Ten tips to help you write a memorable thank you message:

If you connected with someone at a networking event, a thank you email or LinkedIn message is a great way to show appreciation and gratitude. (Especially if they offered to do something kind or helpful for you).

1. Be timely: Send your message as soon as possible after the act of kindness or helpfulness. A timely message will show your appreciation and respect for the person's time and effort.

2. Start with a greeting: Begin your message with a warm and personal greeting that addresses the person by name.

3. Look forward: Mention how you look forward to future interactions or opportunities to work together. This will show your enthusiasm and willingness to build a strong relationship.

4. Express gratitude: Clearly and sincerely express your gratitude and appreciation for what the person has done for you. Use specific details to show that you noticed and value their effort.

5. Be specific: Mention what you are thanking the person for and why it was meaningful to you. This will make your message more personal and relevant.

6. Use positive language: Use positive and uplifting language to convey your message. Avoid negativity or criticism, and focus on the positive outcome.

7. Share how it impacted you: Explain how the person's action made a positive impact on you or helped you in some way. This will help the person understand the importance of their contribution.

8. Share a personal anecdote: Share a personal anecdote or story that relates to the thank you message. This will make your message more interesting and relatable.

9. Use a closing: End your message with a closing that reinforces your gratitude and appreciation, such as "Thank you again for your kindness" or "I appreciate your help more than words can express."

10. Use humour (only if feels 100% appropriate): If the situation allows, use humour to add a light and playful tone to your message. This will make your message more memorable and enjoyable.

Remember to be sincere, personal, and specific in your thank you message. A memorable early message can strengthen relationships and create goodwill for years to come.
